Established in 2002, SRDE’s Association of Higher Education Institutions (SAHEI) is one of the most rapid emerging Association in the field of Higher Education. It is closely linked with various stake-holders and has a very impressive list of associated personalities in its various Board/ Council. The leading activity of SAHEI is the conduct of National Aptitude Test (NAT) at the national level as an all India level common entrance test for admission to Under-graduate and post-graduate professional, management and allied programmes. NAT 2008 has been endorsed by nearly 70 Institutions including eight Universities across the country.
SRDE has also launched a Higher Education Journal- ‘SHEJ’ towards promoting higher education research works. An impressive number of persons have been associated with the journal as reviewers for referring the journal. A list of Assessors has also been prepared for various accreditation activities to be shortly commenced by it.
SRDE Community College (SCC) has been established by SRDE in association with IGNOU at Faridabad which will now house the head quarters of the organization. SAHEI also distributes Smt. Santosh Memorial Scholarships and Dr. SVN Narayanan Awards worth Rs. One lac and Rs. Ten thousand respectively each year to meritorious candidates to boost their efforts towards Higher Education.
A non-government, not-for-profit organization, SAHEI is slowly becoming the voice of India's developing education fraternity. Institutions and Universities from across the country are the members of the SAHEI and the nos. are increasing constantly.
SAHEI intends to work closely with the government and other decision makers on policy issues, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for industry through a range of specialised services and global linkages. It also provides a platform for sector specific consensus building and networking.
SRDE’s Association of Higher Education Institutions (SAHEI) is organizing its annual Higher Education Meet 2009 on October 24th in New Delhi.
